Player of the Year

The "Player of the Year" feature of our association is similar to the PGA Fed Ex Cup. Members earn points (see following schedule) in certain tournaments (see schedule of tournaments) based on how well they play in their flights. This year (2023) the POY Committee has made the following changes.

 

This year the money distribution will be as follows:

• 1st place/20%/$80-100*

• 2nd place/17%/$68-85*

• 3rd place/15%/$60-75*

• 4th place/12%/$48-60*

• 5th place/10%/$40-50*

• 6th place/7%/$28-35*

• 7th place/5%/$20-25*

Players will earn more points for the Majors:
 

• Puerto Del Sol Masters = 1 ½ times the regular points

• Puerto Del Sol Open = 1 ½ times the regular points

• Puerto Del Sol Club Championship = 2 times the regular points

• Puerto Del Sol Player of the Year  = 2 ½ times the regular points
   

We hope that members engage in the tournament play and that the Player of the Year feature will encourage more vigorous competition.
